New Design
Sunbeam has been given a complete design overhaul, making it more elegant and useful than ever. Rather than write about it here I’ll let the new design speak for itself – so go try it out and let me know what you think!
Icon
One highlight of working on this update was getting the chance to work with the legendary Matthew Skiles to design a fresh new icon for Sunbeam. The whole process was super smooth and I couldn’t be happier with how it looks on my Home Screen.
Interactive Widgets
Widgets are an important part of the experience for any weather app and Sunbeam is no exception. With the latest update Sunbeam’s widgets are now more useful than ever, taking advantage of the interactive widgets feature introduced in iOS 17 – just tap the “i” icon in the top right corner to get more information.
Customizable Vitamin D Targets
One feature I’ve been asked about a bunch of times in the past is the ability to set a custom Vitamin D target for the day. And now with the new Sunbeam you can – just head over to the Settings screen.
Longer Range Forecasts
Sunbeam will now show you the forecast for any location for the next 10 days – because why not?! And if you want to see detailed hourly forecasts for any of those days just long press for the full detail.
